She was born on February 7, 1915. A true Oklahoman. The daughter of pioneer Oklahomans, Tom & Maude Robinson, who staked their claim in the Land Run of 1889. Emma was one of eleven children & the second youngest daughter. She is survived by her sister, Tommie Mitchell of OKC. Emma married W.C. (Carl) Long in 1932 in Okfuskee, OK. They were blessed with & raised five children. She is preceded in death by her husband & three sons: Tommy, Earl & Russell Long. Her surviving family members include: son, Bill Long of Yukon, OK; daughter, Myrna Heller of OKC, grandsons: Darrett & Jeff Long of OKC, Robbin Long of Mustang, OK, & Kirk Johnson of Owasso, OK. Granddaughters: Cindy Haag of Rapid City, S.D., Shauna Quirogo of Dallas, TX, Summer Radcliff of Houston, TX, Megan Long of Bonham, TX, Cynthia Hocker of Ark City, KS, & Crystal Johnson of OKC; 13 great grandchildren & 1 great great grandchild. Emma wore many hats in her lifetime in Oklahoma. She was a PTA member, Home Demonstration officer, arts supporter, electrical wiring specialist at Kerr Aviation & a special events coordinator for church activities. Her life's most enjoyable contributions were to her grandchildren & great grandchildren, teaching them about the wonders of outdoor Oklahoma. As a fisherman, she once landed a fifty- four pound catfish on Lake Eufaula, & often retold the story to wide- eyed second & third generation listeners as she showed them how to 'bait a hook' & to identify Oklahoma wildlife. She directed summer shade tree Christian events at Oklahoma lakes, chaired fundraisers for volunteer lake fire departments, & participated in a variety of conservation activities throughout her beloved state. A tireless quilt maker, pie baker & stray animal saver. 'Grandma Jean' will live in our hearts forever. Funeral services will be graveside, Monday, March 10, 2003 at 2:00p.m. at Arlington Memory Gardens, Midwest City, OK.
