All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::NOT LISTED Lamar, Mary Lee Mary Lee Lamar, 89, passed away the morning of Tuesday, March 20, 2007. She was born in Spencer, Okla., on December 24, 1917, the eldest child of Ben and Dot Rhodes. She grew up in Spencer and went to Oklahoma Normal School but left before graduating to marry the love of her life, Morris Lamar. They were married 58 years. They lived in Oklahoma City for the first 14 years and then moved to Montebello, Calif. Mrs. Lamar worked for Pacific Bell Telephone Company for 20 years. In 1973 she and her husband retired and moved to Visalia, Calif., where they enjoyed raising cattle, a horse and their dog Freckles, and were very active in the Visalia Christian Church. Mary Lee had been a resident of San Luis Obispo County for the last eight years. She moved from Visalia in 1999 to be near her daughter and son-in-law and their family. Mary Lee was described by all as a "very sweet lady." She was well known for her wonderful pies and fried chicken and was always ready to bake a pie or cake for someone. She was a very kind and loving individual, a true Christian. Mary Lee was preceded in death by her husband Morris, and brothers, Eddie Rhodes and Bennie Rhodes. She is survived by her daughter Patricia and son-in-law Dick, grandsons; Eric and wife Ayleen and Peter and wife Milay; four great- grandchildren, Kristina, Tyler, Isabella and Trevor.
