Mary E., 88, received her Heavenly reward on Dec. 6, 2005. She was born Dec. 5, 1917 in OKC, to Perry & Lillian Bess (Patterson) Gilkison. A lifelong resident of OKC, she attended Lee Elem. & graduated from Capitol Hill H.S. On June 4, 1939 at Capitol Hill Church of God, she wed George E. Lane, Sr. and together they shared more than 55 years of wonderful marriage and raising their 3 children: Pat, Barbara, & George, Jr. A loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother & great grandmother, Mary dedicated her life to serving her Lord, family and others. She always put the needs of other before her own. She volunteered for numerous years at Hillcrest Hospital Gift Shop, and Okla. County Election Board. Mary was a very active part of each church she attended, having attended Capitol Hill COG, MWC COG, Moore COG, where she served as Sunday School Secretary, and most recently attended Shartel Church of God, where she was active in the Joyaires. Mary also enjoyed bowling for many years at the Penn 44 Lanes. Preceded in death by her parents; infant brother, Richard; husband, George E. Lane, Sr. on Dec. 2, 1994; and son-in- law, Larry V. Trumbly on March 26, 2005. Her memory will be lovingly cherished by her children: Pat Patton, Barbara Trumbly and George E. Lane, Jr. & wife, Linda, all of OKC; sisters: Wylodean Lee of Tulsa, OK & Lanell McNew of Shawnee, OK; 7 grandchildren: Lori Nosan & husband, Jack, Larry Joe Trumbly & wife, Diana, Terry Patton & wife, Stephanie, Leigh Singleton & husband, John, Diane Hall, Leslie A. Norwood & husband, Mark, and Jeremy Lane & wife, Carrie; 10 great grandchildren; and a host of other loving family & friends.
