May, 69, passed away on Monday, Oct. 3, 2005, at his home in Oklahoma City. Don enjoyed a wide variety of activities, including breeding and racing thoroughbred horses, and building and racing stock cars. He was an avid sports fan and was recently inducted on July 16, 2005, into the Capitol Hill Hall of Fame. He was president and CEO of W.H. May Oil Royalties. He served his country for eight years in the Air Force Reserves at Tinker Air Force Base while working at Townley's Dairy, Oklahoma City. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clara and Roy May; a brother, Troy May; a half- brother, Leland "Bud" May; and two half- sisters, Dorothy Dearmore and Irene Goodwin. Survivors include his wife of 41 years Lois; three children, William H. May II of Guthrie, Roy Don May and wife Gina of Marshall, and La Dawn Christopher and husband Chris of Little Elm, Texas; a sister Janice Pruitt of Norman; ten grandchildren, Harmony Crane, Joshua May, Melody Crook, Jamie, Jaylene and HarleyAdams, Kyllie and Sunnie May, Jace and Semyon Christopher; three great-grandchildren, Marissa, Destiny and Elijah Crane; and several special nieces and nephews. A memorial service is planned for 2p.m., today (Thursday), at Smith and Kernke Chapel, 14624 N. May Avenue, Oklahoma City, with burial to follow at Marshall Lions South Cemetery, a half mile west of the Hwy. 74 and Hwy. 51 intersection. Pallbearers will be members of his high school football team.
