Obit for Corabell Corbin McKee

Corabell Corbin McKee
GUYMON, Okla. - Corabell Corbin McKee, 84, died Thursday, Jan. 22, 1998.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Victory Memorial United Methodist 
Church with the Rev. Mike Chaffin, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in 
Elmhurst Cemetery by Henson-Novak Funeral Directors.

Mrs. McKee was born in Tishomingo. After graduating from Stillwater High 
School and attending Colorado University, she graduated in 1934 from Panhandle 
A&M College.

She obtained a degree from Paragon Secretarial School in New Orleans in 
1935. She then returned to the Panhandle and accepted a position as secretary 
to the Panhandle A&M College president.

She married Marvin E. McKee in 1938. He died in 1981.

Mrs. McKee was a homemaker and an active member of Victory Memorial United 
Methodist Church. She also was a member of Pi Beta Phi and Chapter AM of PEO 
and a life member of No Man's Land Historical Society.

She was a member of Ohoyahoma, which is for wives of Oklahoma state 
legislators. She also was a duplicate bridge life master. In 1986, she was 
inducted into the Panhandle State Alumni Hall of Fame.

Survivors include two sisters, Frances Corbin Bennett of Oklahoma City and 
Robertellen Corbin Leiphart of Naples, Fla.; and two nieces, Kerry McKee Harris 
of Phoenix and Lela Bennett Sullivan of Oklahoma City.

A Corabell McKee Memorial has been established for Victory Memorial United 
Methodist Church or Panhandle State University Foundation. Memorial can be sent 
to Henson-Novak Funeral Home, Box 1306, Guymon, Okla. 73942.
