Oma V., age 84, passed away Tuesday, July 23, 2002. She grew up in Henryetta, graduated from Henryetta High School, later attending the University of Oklahoma and was a former Miss Henryetta in the 1930's. She lived in Okmulgee, later moving to Midwest City, where she retired from Tinker A.F.B. She was a member of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church. Oma was an avid gardener and loved crossword puzzles. She loved to paint and shared her crocheting and knitting with family and friends. She is survived by two daughters, Judith Southerland and Beverly Shipman and husband, Paul, all of Harrah, OKl brother, Albert Keith McKee of Midwest City; and sister, Eloise Gaines and husband, J.R. of Okmulgee; also grandchildren, Kim Ferrell, Kevin Shipman, Kari Shipman, Brandon Shipman, Richard Southerland, Donna Patterson, Carol (Annette) Grunwald; and nine great grandchildren; numerous other relatives and friends. Graveside services will begin at 2:00 p.m., Friday, July 26, 2002, at Arlington Memory Gardens, with Father Charles R. Murphy officiating.
