He was a lifelong peace officer, starting with his employment with the Clinton and Edmond Police Departments in the 1950s. He then served with the Oklahoma County Sheriff's Office, attaining the rank of Captain. He was a lifetime member of the Sheriffs and Peace Officers Association. He mentored many in the law enforcement community, as well as assisting in cases after his retirement in 1983. He is survived by his daughter, Diana, and her husband Tim Holder of Edmond; grandson Geoff Holder and his fiancee Lyndsay Schaub of OKC; granddaughter Amelia and her husband Chris Sage, both currently serving in the USAF; and great-granddaughter Madeline Clare Sage. In keeping with his wishes, a farewell reception will be held at the Mayfair Center, 48th and Independence, in OKC on Tuesday, April 8, 4-7 p.m. All who knew, loved and respected him are invited for refreshments and memories. Contributions may be made to the Sheriffs and Peace Officers Association.
