She was born on 12- 19-05, to James Henry George & Mary Lula George, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma Territory. They preceded her death; also her husband, Archie (Gator); her brothers and sisters, Donald, Beulah, F.H. (Bill), Hazel, J.B., and Zena; her two sons, Archie Jr. (Bud) & wife, Mozelle, Richard (Dick), her son-inlaw, Jack Evans; two grandsons, Gary Evans, and Brett McAlpine. She is survived by her daughter, Bobby Evans, with whom she made her home since 1999; 6 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She had worked at Tinker Field during WWII as a "Rosie the Riveter" and later was a longtime John A. Brown employee. After retiring, they moved to Lake Tenkiller where they operated a small nursery business until Gator's stroke in 1972, relocating to an acreage north of Piedmont, then Gator passing on in 1975. After that time, Essie and special niece, Doris George, traveled over the lower 48 states, missing only Florida. Essie donated money, food, and clothing to Skyline Ministries, Jesus House and also adopted a family from time to time. She was a faithful member of Wheatland United Methodist Church until she was no longer able to drive. She was also a member of the Retired Firefighters Assoc of OKC. Graveside services are set for Tuesday, February 25, 2003, at 3:00 pm, at Sunny Lane Cemetery. GUARDIAN WEST 41 & N.
