All rights reserved. http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Daily Oklahoman 2 Aug 2002 McLennan Jr., Lamar Lamar McLennan, Jr, 85, passed away at St. John Hospital in Tulsa on August 1, 2002 after a lengthy illness. Mr. McLennan was born in Hugo, Oklahoma on December 26, 1916 to Lamar and Irma McLennan and he graduated from Riverside Military Academy in Georgia. Mr. McLennan earned a B.S. in Geology from the University of Oklahoma where he was a member of Sigma Nu fraternity. His wife of sixty-six years, Zetta Brown McDonald, preceded him in death on July 24, 2002. Mr. McLennan served Seaboard Oil Company as Chief Geologist in Midland and Dallas, Texas. Upon Seaboard's merger with Texaco, Mr. McLennan became Manager of Exploration for the Western Division of Texaco in Houston. The McLennans retired to Lakeway, Texas in 1972 where they remained until moving to Tulsa in 1996. Mr McLennan is survived by his daughters, Linda McLennan Reis and Christie McLennan Wadley and sons-in-law Robert R. Reis and Don W. Wadley of Tulsa; grandchildren Karen Reis Harned, R. Richard Reis, Jr., Kathryn Reis, Lance Wadley and Andrew Wadley, sister Jean Evans of Tulsa; and great-grandchild Katelyn Nicole Wadley. He also was preceded in death by his brother Dan who was killed in action in China as an officer in the U.S. Army Air Corp during WWII. Graveside funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 3, 2002 at Memorial Park Cemetery in Oklahoma City.
