All rights reserved. http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/copyright.htm ========================================================================== McConahay, Elizabeth June Slawson Elizabeth June Slawson, 83, was born September 2, 1919 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin the daughter of Chester and Gertrude Slawson. She died January 1, 2003 in Oklahoma City. Elizabeth came to OKC in November of 2001, and resided at the Statesman's Club at the Vineyard Estates. She moved from Bella Vista, Arkansas where she and her husband retired after leaving Perry, Iowa. She attended K-12 and one year of business school in Milwaukee, and was involved in Beta Sigma Phi and Toast Mistress. She worked as a blue printer for Chicago, St. Paul, Pacific & Milwaukee Railroad, in Milwaukee, WI and Chicago, IL. She later worked as a Program Coordinator for the Head Start Program in Iowa, and later was a Systems Analyst for Preferred Risk Insurance Company in Des Moines, Iowa. She was very active in the establishment of Mt. Olivet Lutheran Church in Perry, IA. She also was active in Shepard groups at Bella Vista Community Church, was a member of the Wisconsin Club, and the Ozark Seekers, a historical society. One of Elizabeth's loves was playing bridge. She was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband of 62 years, Robert Rex McConahay, 4 brothers; Roland, Chester, Jerry, and Leonard Slawson. She is survived by a son, Patrick McConahay and wife Janice, Astoria, OR, a daughter, Elizabeth Borden and husband Mike, Moscow, ID, a sister, Sharon Harvey, Oklahoma City; grandchildren, Sascha Hubbard, U.S. Virgin Islands, Stefanie, John and Keagan McConahay, Astoria, OR, Jennette Sanders, Gordon, NE. Memorials may be made to the Building Fund at Bella Vista Community Church. Memorial Service will be 10:30 A.M. on Tuesday, January 7, 2003 at Bella Vista Community Church, Bella Vista, Arkansas. Interment will be at 9:45 AM in the Bella Vista Cemetery. SMITH & KERNKE 14624 N.
