McKenzie, 52, formerly of Chickasha, OK, are pending with the Brown/Christian Funeral Home. Richard McKenzie was born January 4, 1952. He passed away November 4, 2004 at St. Anthony Hospital in Oklahoma City, OK. ========== The Chickasha Express-Star 8 November 2004 RICHARD D. McKENZIE Funeral services for Richard D. McKenzie, 52, of Oklahoma City, Okla., will be held Saturday, Nov. 13, 2004, at Shepherd Street (Disciples of Christ) Christian Church. Dr. Rev. Nettie J. Fisher, pastor, and Rev. Morris W. Blakes will be eulogizing. Richard D. McKenzie was born Jan. 19, 1952, in Chickasha, Okla., and died on Thursday, Nov. 4, 2004, at St. Anthony Hospital in Oklahoma City. Visitation will be Thursday and Friday, Nov. 11 and 12, from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. ========== The Chickasha Express-Star 11 November 2004 RICHARD DARNELL McKENZIE Funeral services for Richard D. McKenzie, 52, will be held Saturday, November 13, 2004, at 1:00 p.m. at Shepherd St. Christian Church, 808 Shepherd Street, Chickasha, OK. Pastor Reverend Nettie J. Fisher officiating, Reverend Morris W. Blake eulogizing. Richard Darnell McKenzie was born January 19, 1952, in Chickasha, OK, to Richard and Dorothy McKenzie. Richard united with Shepherd St. (Disciples of Christ) Christian Church, under the late Pastor Reverend John B. Holmes, at the age of 14. He graduated from Chickasha High in 1971. While in high school, Richard excelled in sports. He was a member of Chickasha's state championship baseball team, and participated in winning several district baseball championships. Upon graduation from high school, Richard moved to Sacramento, CA. While living in Sacramento, he became a member of the New Hope Baptist Church in Sacramento, CA. At New Hope Baptist Church, Richard served as a deacon and treasurer. On April 4, 1994, Richard Darnell McKenzie became an ordained minister. Richard attended American River College majoring in business management. He also graduated from Kings Real Estate in Sacramento, CA, obtaining a degree in real estate law and criminal law. He was employed for 11 years as a carpenter for Pacific Modern Homes: 10 years as a security guard for Security and Patrol Inc. Richard retired in 1999. Afterward he moved to Oklahoma. His father Richard McKenzie preceded him in death. One brother, Kevin Michael McKenzie, Two uncles: James Mozell Johnson and Willie B. Daniels, One aunt, Ewilder Holloway. Richard leaves behind to cherish his memories: wife of 27 years, Claudia McKenzie; three children: Richard Craig McKenzie, Bandon Darnell McKenzie, and Kimberly McKenzie, all three of Sacramento, CA; mother, Dorothy McKenzie, of Oklahoma City, OK; five brothers: Justus Eugene McKenzie, of Oklahoma City, OK, Ronald Erwin McKenzie of Chickasha, OK, Heister L. McKenzie, of El Reno, OK, Travis Bernard McKenzie, of Sacramento, CA, Wallace Lee McKenzie of El Reno, OK; four sisters: Patricia Yvonne McKenzie, of Fresno, CA, Karen Lavonne Buckner, of Dallas, TX, Leatrice Marie Phillips, of Oklahoma City, OK, Dorothea Faye McKenzie of Oklahoma City, OK; one aunt, Wilma Jean Hicks, of Roswell, NM; two uncles: Walter J. Daniels, of Chickasha, OK, Russell D. Wright, of Roswell, NM; 33 grand nieces and nephews, and 25 great nieces and nephews. Survivors also include a host of other relatives and friends.
