Joetta a native of Liberia West Africa was a high school graduate of Monrovia College and a former student of the University of Liberia, before relocating to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma in 1979 where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration and a Masters of Business Administration from Langston University and Central State University, respectively. Upon completion of her educational goals, Joetta joined Silo Corporation and subsequently Circuit City, Inc. as a sales professional until the Lord called her home. Joetta was a devoted wife and proud mother. She leaves to mourn her passing, husband Burke E. Major Sr., son Burke E. Major Jr., father Phillip Wayne Sr. and mother-in law Jean Scott, all of Oklahoma City. Several Brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews and a host of relatives and friends throughout the United States, Africa, Europe and Canada. Joetta was preceded in death by her mother Mariah Madison Wayne, sisters Sue, Sarah, Viola, Martha and brother William. Arrangements made by Temple and Sons Funeral Home.
