Beverly was born February 28, 1937 to Jesse Merle and Ora Hannah (Blumer) Overholt in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Beverly was a graduate of Stillwater High School and remained active in class activities. She attended Oklahoma State University prior to marriage. Beverly was the devoted wife of Robert J. MacArthur for 33 years. She was an incredible mother to her two boys who are testaments to Beverly's strength and affection. She was a loving sister to her sisters (Gene and Leona) and her brothers (Jess, Darrel, Bill and Dick), and "Auntie Bink" to her 15 nieces and nephews and their children. She was a wonderful mother-in-law and the most remarkable Grandma to her "Pumpkin" and "Tiger Lily". She was a consummate hostess, be it family gatherings or dinners with friends. Beverly delighted in taking care of her family and friends. Beverly was a precious friend to many, and a truer friend you could not find. She was a "second Mom" to many of her boy's friends. In addition to spending time with family and friends, Beverly enjoyed all sports, especially those involving her boys and the Chicago Cubs. Get-aways to Arizona to watch baseball and relax in the sun were a couple of her favorite pastimes. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bob, and two siblings, Jess Overholt and Gene Overholt Wilson. She is survived by her sons; J. MacArthur, and Matt MacArthur, her daughter-in-law Amy and her two grandchildren Madelyn and Hayden. Viewing will be held at Vondel Smith Morturary begining Sunday, February 2, 2003 at 12:00P.M. Funeral Services will be held at Grace United Methodist Church on Tuesday, February 4, 2003 at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation's Breast Cancer Research.
