He was born March 26, 1933, in Agana, Guam to Pedro Cepeda Mateo & Rosa San Nicholas Mateo. He married Angelita Mexia July 23, 1955 in Denison, Texas. Jose retired from the US Air Force after 23 years of active Military Service. He then retired from Civil Service after 19 years. He served in the Korean & Vietnam Wars. Before his health failed him, our father enjoyed the outdoors, fishing & coaching our little league baseball teams. Our family and his friends will miss him. Jose is survived by his wife Angelita, of the home; 2 daughters, Angela Biart, of Casper, WY, Rosalinda Rhone, of Arlington, TX, 2 sons, Robert Mateo, of Midwest City, OK & John Mateo, of Moore, OK; granddaughters, Carie & Chelsie Reed, of Casper, WY; 3 grandsons, Marcus J. Mateo, of OKC, Joshua Rhone, of Arlington, TX & Dylan Mateo, of Moore; granddaughter, Alexis Rhone, of Arlington, TX; great-grandchildren, Trever & Tristen Osborne, of Casper, WY; nieces & nephews from Guam; & many thanks to Mary Saldana for all the help she has given to our family. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, John, Raymond, Greg, Jesus & Nick; & sisters, Maria & Laurdes. Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, December 5, 2002, at the John M. Ireland Funeral Home & Chapel, Moore, OK, with Pastor Harvey Spear officiating. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 PM, at Fort Sill National Cemetery, Elgin, OK. Services are under the direction of the John M. Ireland Funeral Home & Chapel.
