Eddie Malphrus officiating. Interment was at Oaklawn Cemetery under the direction of Clagg Funeral Home. Mecie was born Thursday, September 9, 1915, in Mena, Ark. to Marshall Almond and Lizzie M. Price Almond. She died Wednesday, July 7, 2004 in Seminole. She grew up in the Harrah and Choctaw areas then moved to Sulphur in 1934. She married Tony "Dutch" Curry in 1934. He preceded her in death in 1967. She later married Granville Mitchell in 1977. He preceded her in death in 1989. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Glenda and Mike Besselman, Sarasosta, Fla.; three sons and daughters-in-law, Pete and Oweda Curry, Sulphur, Buster and Kaye Curry, Sulphur and Jake and Susie Curry, Seminole; a son-in-law, Don Wilson, Lewisville, Texas; two sisters, Mildred Gilbreath, Lawrence, Kan. and Imogene Reynolds, Elk City; 14 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren and 14 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Bruce Lynn Curry, a daughter, Ellen Wilson, her step mother, Dovie Almond, and sisters and brothers including her twin brother.
