Her faith in God and in herself made every challenge an opportunity throughout her life. After a year-long battle with cancer, Allene went to be with the Lord on Thursday, Oct. 7, 2004, while living in Oklahoma City. A service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, at Crystal Rock Cathedral, Ardmore. Dr. Walt Spradling and Rev. Mike Johnson will officiate. She was born June 16, 1940, to the late Thomas Granville and Myrtle Levi Brown in Oil City (Carter County). She grew up in Graham and graduated from Graham High School in 1959. She had worked in Marietta as a legal secretary and retired in Oklahoma City. She is preceded in death by her parents, brother Buddy Brown and sister Myrtle Stewart. She is survived by sons David and wife LouAnn Lively, Durant, and Terry and wife Dawn Womack, Tuttle; daughter Missy Bowden, Oklahoma City; grandchildren Blaklyn and Zackary Lively, the pride and joy of her life; sister Norma Jean and husband Aaron Vanderburg, Milo; brother Wayne and wife JoAnn Brown, Wilson; sister Janie and husband Clint Roller, Elmore City; numerous nieces and nephews; and three precious grandpuppies. Burial will be at Keller Cemetery, north of Wilson, with pallbearers Tim Brown, Ron Vanderburg, Tom Brown, Joe Bill Stewart and Jerry Wallace. Honorary bearers will be Keith Baxter, Mike Pruitt, Tony Colvin and Chad Brown.
