Mills MEDICINE PARK - Funeral for retired Chief Warrant Officer C.V. Mills, 72, Medicine Park, will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at New Post Chapel, Fort Sill, with Chaplains Rabe and Fowler officiating. Mr. Mills died Friday, Nov. 29, 2002, at a local hospital. Burial with military honors will be at Niles Cemetery near Hinton under direction of Hodge Funeral Home, Fletcher. He was born June 27, 1930, in Hinton. He married Betty Zwirtz on Dec. 26, 1952, in Oklahoma City. He served in the U.S. Army, was a veteran of the Korean War and served two tours of duty in Vietnam. He retired from service in 1979. He was a master-rated Army aviator, a recipient of the Distinguished Flying Cross, the recipient of 16 Army Air Medals, two Purple Hearts and received the Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry. Survivors include his wife, Betty, of the home; three daughters: Barbara Barnes and her husband Benny, Dothan, Ala.; Nancy Ellis and her husband Ronnie; and Brenda Mills, all of Lawton; a son, Shafen Mills, Lawton; three granddaughters: Shanele Lepien, Julina Mills and Victoria Mills, all of Lawton; four grandsons: Garrett Barnes, Longview, Texas; Wesley Mills Barnes, Dothan; Brandon Mills and Skyler Stevens, both of Lawton; five brothers: Fred Mills, Cordell; Gene Mills, Fort Cobb; Jim Mills, Perkins; Ronnie Mills, Hinton; and Bob Mills, Bella Vista, Ark.; four sisters: Wanda Leuch, Anadarko; Wilma Smith, Hinton; Connie F. Granger, Anadarko; and Kathy Stuart, Marlow.
