She was preceded in death by her son Jeffrey Todd Milner, parents Jess Barton and Lela Barton, two brothers, Frank Barton and Joe Barton. She is survived by her husband Billy J. Milner and stepson Charlie Milner, a brother Bill Barton, three sisters Nelda Lee and husband John, Pat Carmichael and husband Kenneth, Carol Waugh and husband Dwight. Two sisters-in-law Lois Barton and Arlyce Barton and a host of nephews, cousins, nieces and friends. Sharon was born to Jess and Lela Barton at Packsaddle, OK on December 17, 1945 (her birth certificate shows Arnett, OK). She graduated from Arnett, OK high school and proceeded on to seek a career in the business world. She eventually found a job at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Oklahoma City. By this time she had married and became the proud mother of Jeff and had become single. She met this guy by the name of Bill Milner at this work place and they were married November 19, 1977. Sharon was loved by everyone, she always had a quick laugh and smile even if she was not feeling good. Sharon was always a driving force in the family gatherings. She was constantly thinking of the comfort and well being of others. Sharon and Bill decided in 1990 to enrich their life by learning to square dance where they met some of the most wonderful people. She and Bill were still members of Teacup Chains Square Dance Club. She will be missed by all of those who knew her and the world will be a better place for her having been here. Services will be held on Monday, April 28, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. in the First Christian Church of Edmond. Burial will follow in the Gracelawn Cemetery. Services are under the direction of the Matthews Funeral Home of Edmond. Matthews Funeral Home Locally Owned 601 S.
