Mahone went to be with his Lord Nov. 29, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. Sylvester was born on Nov. 13, 1923 to Dewey and Alice Mahone in Peach Springs, AZ. Sylvester is survived by his wife of 52 years, Nannie (Peggy) Mahone; daughters, Wanda Winston, OKC, Sylvestine Luna, Jones, OK; grandchildren, Tiana Barnes, Charles Barnes, Angela Winston, Felicia Scott all of OKC; great grandchildren Samontai Scott and Destiny Barnes; sisters, Ada Santeo of Scottsdale, AZ, and Martha Mahone of Peach Springs, AZ, and a host of family and friends. He was a Paratrooper with the 82nd Air Bourn in WWII. He was also an Aidman with the medics. He served his Country from 1-30-43 and was honorably discharged 10-12-45. While serving his Country he received European Africian Middle Eastern Theatre Ribbon with 1 Bronze Service Star and a Purple Heart. He will be greatly missed by all. The family wishes to express sincere appreciation to the staff of the OKC VA Hospital. We also express our appreciation to our family and friends with their support.
