All rights reserved. http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Maier, Eva Eva, of Oklahoma City, died Thursday at Canterbury Health Center following years of declining health. She was 93. Born in Berlin, Germany, in 1909, the former Eva Lichtwitz came to America in 1939 to escape Nazi Germany. In Germany, and briefly in Holland, she worked as a secretary, a career she continued after coming to this country. A 51 year resident of Oklahoma City, she moved here after meeting and marrying her husband, Eric T. Maier. The couple lived in New York until 1951, then moved to Oklahoma City, with their two children, in search of a better place to raise their family. Her husband predeceased her in January 1970. A homemaker while her children were growing up, she later returned to the job market, working primarily as a sales associate. She was a member of Hadassah, the National Council of Jewish Women, the Emanuel, Synagogue, and the Temple B"nai Israel Sisterhoods She was also a member of the PTA organizations of her children's schools. She is survived by a daughter, Marion Maier Galant, of Denver, CO, her husband and their two daughters, Toni Ariel and Amanda Meryl Galant. She has a son, Peter, of Arlington, VA, his wife and their daughter, Emily Beth Maier. Funeral services will be 10 A.M., Thursday, January 2, 2002 at the Hahn-Cook/Street & Draper Chapel with interment following in Temple B"nai Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be wade to Temple B"nai Israel.
