Len was born August 28, 1913 in Elbert County, Georgia. He is preceded in death by his father William Boykin Moore; his mother Gertrude Hammond Moore; two brothers, John and Austin Moore; and a sister, Francis Monroe. Len is survived by a brother, Hammond Moore and his wife Tanya of Aiken, South Carolina; a daughter, Frances Lynette Bagley and her husband John of Longview, Texas; a son, Jack A. Moore and his wife Betty of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; three grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. After serving in World War II, Len returned to his home of Elberton, Georgia where he began his career in the monument business. He quickly developed his freehand artistry skill in the monument business to craft level. His clients and friends marveled at his penmanship and freehand drafting abilities. In 1949 he and his family moved to Jacksonville, Texas where he founded the Moore Granite Company. After working in Austin, Texas, Len purchased the Star Memorial Company in Mt. Pleasant, Texas where he worked until retirement. Len pursued his life-long dream of farming and raising registered Limousin cattle until illness forced him to move to Oklahoma City with family. He became a member of Blackburn Chapel Baptist Church in Shawnee, after moving to Oklahoma. Len loved to read, continually educating himself. Fishing was a passion and joy that brought him great pleasure. The tug on his line always produced a predictable smile. Optimism was a constant trait that made family and friends alike marvel. Even in the face of pain and deteriorating health Len's catch-phrase was 'I'm feeling better everyday'! A memorial service will be celebrated Tuesday, August 16, at 2:00 PM in the Autry Funeral Home Chapel, Jacksonville, Texas. Burial will follow in Still Waters Memorial Gardens, Jacksonville. Visitation will begin on Monday, August 15, with family receiving friends from 6 PM to 8 PM at the funeral home. Honorary pallbearers are Len's great grandsons.
