James A. Morgan, born to Marcus & Willie Morgan on April 25th, 1925 in Anson, TX. He served in the U.S. Army until the end of World War II. He served a tour in the U.S. Navy before rejoining the U.S. Army where he became a veteran of the Korean Conflict. He met and married Gail M. Murphy in Lawton, OK while stationed at Ft. Sill, OK in 1962. Shortly afterward, he retired from the U.S. Army having achieved the rank of Master Sergeant and serving his country for 23 years. In looking for his "second" career, he chose to work for the State of Oklahoma Agriculture Department in 1967. He retired in 1988 after 20 years. He and Gail moved to Eau Claire, WI to pursue his third career as a fisherman where, as in the earlier careers, he was quite successful. James is survived by his wife Gail, sisters Jessie Parks (Aurora, CO) and Minni Shipman (Childress, TX), daughters Diane Ary (Disney, OK), Patti Kirchoff (Hutchinson, MN), Mary Meier (Kearney, NB), Laura O'Neal (Humble, TX), sons Michael Murphy (Oklahoma City, OK), Matthew Murphy (Oklahoma City, OK), Shane Morgan (Exeter, MO), Mark Murphy (Okla. City, OK), Tim Murphy (Del City, OK), 25 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Graveside services on Tues., 1/14/03 at 2 PM at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
