All rights reserved. http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Martyn, Lola Jean Lola Jean Martyn, age 89, Beloved mother, grandmother and great- grandmother departed this life on August 26, 2002, after a lengthy illness. She was born on Friday, January 13, 1913, in Anadarko, Oklahoma to William and Josephine Bedingfield. She married Ted Martyn in 1934 and in 1936, their daughter, Jo Carol, was born. Jean was a very loving person, not only to her family, who were the most important to her, but to her friends and neighbors as well. She was caring, thoughtful and kind and received great enjoyment in caring for her home and garden. She loved music and it was a joyful part of her life. From these activities, she gained strength, peace and happiness and shared all of them with those she loved. She was an active member of Crown Heights Methodist Church for many years, as well as being a member of the Women's Committee of the Oklahoma City Symphony Orchestra, the Oklahoma Art League, Criterion Book Club, the Republican Women's Club and the Freedom Foundation. She was preceded in death by her parents, her Beloved husband Ted Martyn, her sister Beulah Bedingfield Morris, her brother William Howard Bedingfield and son-in-law, C.B. Cameron. Survived by her daughter, Jo Carol Martyn Cameron, grandchildren, William Martyn Cameron and wife Laura of Oklahoma City and Lynda Lee Cameron of West Palm Beach, Florida. Also great- granddaughters Caroline, Liza and Claire Cameron, as well as, nieces and nephews. She was a great lady with a very loving heart, mind and soul. She will be sorely missed by her family and friends and all who knew her. The family would like to express their gratitude and give special thanks to the nurses and caregivers: Alberta Watson, Helen Knouse, Good Shepherd Hospice, Sonda Barks, Robin Lawrence, Carolyn Clay, Kathy Toay, Cathy Hays, Kelly Weber. Memorial services were held 2 p.m. Wednesday, August 28, 2002 at the Hahn- Cook/ Street & Draper Chapel. Interment was in Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the Family request Memorials to Good Shepherd Hospice, 4411 Highline Boulevard, OKC, OK 73108.
