Mr. Nixon died Wednesday, March 5, 2003, in Oklahoma City ========= Lawton Constitution 8 Mar 2003 Robert Lee Nixon OKLAHOMA CITY — Graveside service for Robert Lee Nixon, 82, Oklahoma City, will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Fort Sill National Cemetery. Mr. Nixon died Wednesday, March 5, 2003, in Oklahoma City. Arrangements are under direction of Whinery-Huddleston Funeral Service. He was born March 2, 1921, in Garden City, Ark., to Oscar and Bessie Nixon. He was a truck driver and also drove a bus for the Oklahoma Foundation for the Disabled. He had been employed by B and N Auto Repair Shop for several years. He was a Baptist. Survivors include three sons: Robert G. Lee and wife, Bertha, Tulsa; Billy Ray Nixon, McCloud; Larry James Gardener, Oklahoma City; two daughters: Mary Louise Herring, Oklahoma City; and Kay Francis Jenkins and husband, Leland, Bristow; a sister, Louise Patricia Thornhill and husband, Albert, Calument; 15 grandchildren; 14 grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
