All rights reserved. http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Nordstrom, Bernice Bernice Nordstrom, was born in Yukon, OK, to Frank H. and Cora M. Olive, on September 6, 1908, and died September 10, 2002, in Oklahoma City, OK. She grew up in Geary and attended school there. She lettered in basketball all four years of high school and remained an avid fan of the game. After graduation from high school, the family moved to Oklahoma City, where she and her twin sister enrolled in Hills Business College. She started her career as a secretary at Alexander Wholesale Drug Company and it was there she met her husband, Gerald 'Jerry' Nordstrom. They had fifty-nine happy years together until he died suddenly in 1990. In later years, she worked for Singer- Fleischaker Oil Co. Bernice and Jerry were faithful members of Northwest Christian Church and the Fellowship Sunday School Class. Bernice enjoyed doing volunteer work for the church and served many years as a member of the choir. Her hobby was cooking and baking and family and friends enjoyed many a wonderful dish she prepared. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jerry; her brother, Kenneth; and her twin sister, Eunice. She is survived by her cousins, Evalyn London and Jere Dunlap, also two special nephews, Ken and Dennis Box, and three special sisters-in-law, Lorraine Breeding, Doris Box and Billie Nordstrom, and many friends whom she loved very much. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Good Shepherd Hospice or Northwest Christian Church. The family wishes to thank the staff at Windsor Manor Assisted Living and Good Shepherd Hospice, especially Sharon Nash. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, September 13, 2002, at Northwest Christian Church, NW 30th & May, Oklahoma City, with interment to follow at Rose Hill Burial Park.
