All rights reserved. http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/copyright.htm ========================================================================== ::Rose Hill Burial Park--OKC OK Oldfield, Edward Dewes Edward Dewes Oldfield, 91, passed away January 21, 2003, in Oklahoma City. He was born August 14, 1911, to Edward Dewes Oldfield, Sr. and Edith L. Baird, in Oklahoma City. He was graduated from Classen High School in 1929 and then attended O.C.U. where he was a member of Lamda Chi. A longtime hobby of his was H.A.M. Radio on which his call letters were WSAYL. He met Cinnie B. Harrold and they were married September 1, 1934. In 1946, he joined his wife and her mother, Della M. Harrold, in owning and operating Harrold Shoes Inc. and maintained the family business until he retired in 1975. He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Baird Oldfield of Ponca City, John Oldfield, as well as a sister, Clarabell Peter. He is survived by his wife of 68 years; daughters, Karen L. Powell and Dee O. Gower both of Oklahoma City; grandchildren, Richard D. Hall, Chief Gower and his wife, Lisa, DeWes L. Merchant and her husband, Ben, Melodee L. Baker and her husband, Robert, Skip Gower and his wife, Amy, Lucinda Vrieze and her husband, Roelof; and 16 great grandchildren. Services will be held 11 a.m., Friday, January 24, 2003, at the Hahn- Cook/Street & Draper Chapel with interment to follow in Rose Hill Burial Park. The family would like to thank Odyssey Hopsice, The Thompson Family and all the wonderful caregivers at Bellevue Nursing Center.
