He was born to Charles Davis and Maud Smith Orahood on May 8, 1923, in Chickasha, OK. Charles enlisted for service during World War II, serving in the United States Army Air Corps as a Signal Operator. Upon completing service to his country, he returned home to marry Naomi Irene Hallmark Cloukia on June 20, 1949. Charles had a varied career path which included management of a gas station, staff manager for American General Life Insurance, ownership of Orahood Automotive with ultimate retirement from Barbour & Short Construction. He is survived by his wife Naomi, sons Scooter and wife Shery, David and wife Soozie, Jay Cloukia and wife Peggy, and Stephen Cloukia and wife Rebecca; 3 sisters, Ann Platel, Marguerite Ivey, Betty Smith; one brother James and wife Doris; 9 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren; brother-inlaw, Richard and wife Geraldine Hallmark and sisterin-law, Evelyn Holmes. The family wishes to express sincere gratitude for the loving, compassionate care offered by Hospice of Oklahoma County and CenOK Home Health Services. Services 10 A.M. Friday at Branstetter-Merritt Funeral Home.
