Phipps, Mercedes Susan Kipp Mercedes Susan Kipp Phipps She was born 8-30-15 to Frank & Katherine Kipp at the family farm on the kitchen table in New Hampton Iowa. She graduated from St. Joseph Mercy Hospital School of Nursing School. Mercedes and her husband Joe were founding members of St. Patrick's Catholic Church and assisted him in their business Phipps Pharmacy. She was also active in the Oklahoma City Pharmacy Auxiliary. Mercedes worked for many years in the office of Dr., Cooper as a R. N. and was the Activity Director at Golden Acres Nursing Home in her later years. Mercedes joy in life was caring for her husband and sons. She believed that being a homemaker was the most important job she could aspire to. Preceded in death by husband Joe B. Phipps, parents, brother Marcellus and sister Nadene Ewen. Survived by sons and wives Phillip and Phyllis of Edmond, JB and wife Margaret of Bethany; grandchildren Jennifer, Townsend, Blaine, Mara, Megan and Margeaux, 2 great grandchildren with another due in November; sister in law Esta Phipps and brother in law Charles Phipps; nieces and nephews Kendra Sabol, Kip Ewen, Don, Jack, Peggy and Sally Phipps and Gary Nance. Because of the great care and kindness offered to Mercedes in her last days the family request memorial donations be made to Mercy at Home Hospice and St. Ann's Nursing Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 AM, Thursday, Aug. 25th at St. Patricks Catholic Church with interment at Memorial Park Cemetery.
