Packham, Jimmie Dale

Jimmie Dale Packham, 76, of Oklahoma City, died January 18, 2003. Born 
August 15, 1926, in Terlton, OK, to Fred and Crystal Packham. Enlisted in 
the U.S. Navy after Pearl Harbor at age 15 and served in World War II 
until his discharge in January of 1946. Played professional baseball with 
the New York Yankees farm club for a short time until an injury ended his 
career. Retired from the U.S. Postal Service. Preceded in death by his 
father, brother, Michael, and son, Jimmie Dale, Jr. Survived by daughters, 
Vicki Schweiger and Terre Packham of Minnesota; grandson, Scott Schweiger, 
wife, Christie, and great grandson, Luke William of Minnesota; mother of 
his children, Martha Packham Brightman of Minnesota; his mother, Crystal 
Packham of Okla. City; brothers, Paul and Ronald of Okla. City, Dennis of 
Yukon and Fred of Tulsa; sisters, Linda Dawson of Yukon and Barbara Smith 
of Okla. City; several nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law and a brother-in-
law. Special thanks to the Preferred Hospice and Windsor Hills Nursing 
Center. Memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m., Sat., Jan. 25, at 
First Christian Church Yukon, 601 Maple St. Family will receive visitors 
after services at 709 Azalea Hill Dr., Yukon.
