He was the son of William Fred and Lena Mae (Roberts) Pettiet. He departed this life on January 23, 2003, in El Reno, Oklahoma at the age of 62. He graduated from Grand Saline High School in 1958. He went to work for Western Union in 1959 and worked for them at Tinker AFB from 1964 until retirement as a plant manager of the 1984th Communications Squadron. He was a member of the Gold Prospectors Club. His hobbies included computers, fishing and he loved raising horses. He is preceded in death by his parents, and one sister, Barbara Smith. Survivors include his wife: Doris Pettiet of the home; 2 sons: Nick Pettiet, Stillwater, OK, John Hays, Dallas, TX; 1 daughter: Paula Janiece Tuberville, Camden, AR; 2 brothers & sisters-in-law: Tommy Pettiet & Juanita, Rockwell, TX, Jimmy Pettiet & Kim, Fruitvale, TX; 1 sister: Helen Waldie, Mesquite, TX; 2 grandchildren: Nathan Tuberville, Camden, AR, Shawn Fiebelkorn, Camden, AR. Formal visitation will be held from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm, Sunday, January 26, 2003, at Smith-Parks Funeral Service, Harrah, OK. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation or charity of your choice. Services will be held at 2:00 pm, Monday, January 27, 2003 at the Asa Smith Memorial Chapel, Harrah, OK. Burial will be at 1:00 pm, Tuesday, January 28, 2003 at Sand Flat Cemetery, Grand Saline, TX. Services are under the direction of Smith-Parks Funeral Service, Harrah, OK.
