All rights reserved. http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/copyright.htm ========================================================================== ::Mathewson Cemetery West--Piedmont OK Pyle, Elizabeth Stobaugh Elizabeth Stobaugh Pyle passed away peacefully in the early morning of Aug. 23, 2005, at the age of 91 years. Born May 8, 1914, in the family home at Tishomingo, Oklahoma, she was the daughter of Lovie (nee' Fanny Loving Cox) and John Jackson Stobaugh, an early-day Oklahoma lawyer. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Duard F. Pyle, an Oklahoma bridge and road contractor, and two of her grandchildren, John Gomez IV and Edwin S. Pyle, Jr. An accomplished pianist, she graduated at age 15 from Tishomingo High School and attended Murray State School of Agriculture, where she graduated Phi Theta Kappa, and Oklahoma College for Women, Chickasha OK. Thus she embarked on a lifelong love of English literature, classical music, genealogy, and history - including especially that of early Oklahoma and Europe. An avid reader and expert seamstress, she believed profoundly in the values of education and knowledge. She is survived by two daughters and two sons and their wives: Jan Pyle, Murfreesboro TN, and Carolyn Pyle Crepps, Edmond OK; Duard F. Pyle, Jr. (Anne), Fort Worth TX, and Edwin S. Pyle (Dorothy), Nashville TN. Her committed belief in the values of education and medical research continue to profoundly benefit the lives of two generations of her family and the well-being of many others. Her nine surviving grandchildren are Sarah C. Beavers (James), Oklahoma City OK; Karen Crepps, Aspen CO; Dr. J. Thomas Crepps, Jr. (Irma), Colorado Springs CO; Mary Crepps Vice, Mandeville LA; Diane Lowe (Robert), Palm Harbor, FL; Wilson F. Pyle (Keegan), Medford MA; Geoffrey A. Pyle, Murfreesboro TN; Philip C. Pyle (Bea), San Marcos TX; and Julianne Pyle, Grand Prairie TX. Her eleven great-grandchildren are Emily Pyle (San Marcos TX); Tiernan Fey and Rowan Pyle (Medford MA); Sarah Corine, Daniel and Joseph Thomas Crepps, III (Colorado Springs CO); Katie Turner (Aspen CO) and Joe Turner (Los Angeles CA); and Emily, Kimberly, and Christine Beavers (Oklahoma City OK). The family expresses its appreciation to the staff at The Fountains at Canterbury and to Mercy Hospice for their many kindnesses and assistance. In particular, their thanks goes to those who most recently cared so lovingly for Mrs. Pyle - Dianna Hardimon, Natisha Horton, Kamarie Clark, Ladonna Wrenn, Cynthia Dickason, Betty Morris, and Shirley Blakley. Funeral services will be conducted by Mercy Hospice Chaplain Duane Snavely at 11:00 a.m. Sat., Aug 27, 2005 in the chapel at Smith & Kernke, 14624 N. May Ave., Oklahoma City OK. Interment at Mathewson Cemetery West, Piedmont OK, following the services. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make memorial gifts honoring the life of Mrs. Pyle may consider The Dean A.
