All rights reserved. http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Maureen Joyce Flanagan Payne Services: Wed., May 29, 1:30 p.m. Memorial services will be held in Greenlawn Memorial Chapel, 3700 River Blvd. for Maureen Joyce Payne, 71, who passed away May 26, 2002. Chaplain Gary Bashor will officiate. Maureen was born on November 11, 1930, in Santa Ana, California and grew up in Bakersfield. She graduated from Kern County Union High School. Maureen worked at the Fox Theater from 1947 to 1950. She then worked at Haliburton Department Store in Oklahoma City as a buyer and model. Mrs. Payne married Jim Payne and lived in Los Angeles as a housewife for 30 years until his death in 1981, when she moved back to Bakersfield to live with her family for the last 20 years. Maureen was an avid reader and amazing at crossword puzzles. Although she was a private person she loved to spend time with her family. Maureen is preceded in death by her husband of 30 years, Jim Payne and parents T.J. Flanagan and Sue. She is survived by her brothers Richard Flanagan, Gary Flanagan and Bill Flanagan; sisters Shirley Georgino and Peggy Kucharski; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of dear friends all of Bakersfield. The family wishes to give special thanks to Claudette Flanagan and the Parkview Julian Convalescent Home and Dr. Juan Garcia for all the extra care they gave Maureen during her illness. No visitation is scheduled.
