Parks will be Wednesday, February 26, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. at the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, Arcadia, OK. Fannie Mae Golson Parks was born on April 17, 1910 in Ft. Deposit, Alabama to Louis and Fannie Golson. She was the eighth child of ten children. Her parents, four sisters, and four brothers preceded her in death. She was educated in Luther, Oklahoma and continued her education at Tuskegee Institute, where George Washington Carver was one of her Professors. Fannie later moved to Columbus, Ohio where she met and married Charles Parks. Her husband preceded her in death. Fannie was employed as a civil service worker for 15 1/2 years. She worked with the Tuskegee Airmen during the war. She was an active church member in Columbus, Ohio, and united with Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church in 2002, after moving to Edmond, Oklahoma. She was a devoted Aunt and Sister and departed this life on February 21, 2003. She leaves to cherish her memory; one brother, Ezra Golson of Arcadia, Oklahoma and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
