Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in Casa View Baptist Church in Dallas. Burial will be in Grove Hill Cemetery by Sparkman-Hillcrest Funeral Home. Mr. Porter was born May 6, 1922, in Oklahoma City. He retired as an accountant for Mobil Oil in 1982 and worked at Midway of State Fair of Texas, McFarland Auditorium and Dallas Boat Show. He attended First Assembly of God of Amarillo and Dallas. He was a member of Casa View Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Nellie Porter, and a daughter, DaNell Mitte. Survivors include a son, Gordon Porter and wife, Judy; a daughter, Nila Houser and husband, Jerry; a son-in-law, Joe Mitte; four grandchildren, Lanell Huffman and husband, Howdy, Jerad Houser, Ferguson Dalton Porter and Morgan Mitte; a great-grandchild, Hunter DaNell Huffman; two step great-grandchildren, Kelcie Huffman and J.D. Huffman; two sisters, Charlotte Hatcher and husband, Leroy, Selma Renegar and husband, Blanchard; a brother-in-law, Charles Barretti; and special friends, Jerry and Jeanette Acuff, Carl and Marilyn Reed and Sean Panpotanasil. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
