All rights reserved. http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/copyright.html ========================================================================== ::NOT LISTED Porter, Larry Gene Larry Gene Porter, beloved husband, father and grandfather, went to be with his heavenly father on Wednesday, September 28, 2005. Larry was born June 4, 1940, in Oklahoma City where he lived his entire life. He is preceded in death by his parents, John & Ora Porter and step-mother Faye Porter. He graduated from Capitol Hill High School in 1958 and attended the University of Oklahoma. Larry was a longtime Agent for Allstate Insurance Company in Yukon, OK. His hobbies included going to the lake, traveling, activities with his family, watching OU sports, and having coffee with his buddies. He attended Crossings Community Church where he was an active member of the Empty Nesters Sunday School Class. Larry received a special gift from an organ donor in 1992 that prolonged his life for 13 years. Larry is survived by his wife Sharon Porter of the home; Two daughters, Jennifer Porter-Smith and Sarah Hughes and her husband Jay; One grandson, Dylan Smith; one sister, Juanita Jezek and husband Ed; nephews Mike Jezek and his wife Carla; and David Jezek and their children. He is also survived by his step-children Joleen & Bob Shields, Jon Chance, Janelle & David Zehren, Jeff & Nancy Chance, Jackie & Sam Bursch, 14 grandchildren and 4 great- grandchildren. The family would like to thank Dr. Lorraine Wilson, Pastor Rick and Crossings Community Church for their love, care and support. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kidney Foundation of Oklahoma, 3617 N.W. 58th, suite 101, OKC, OK 73112. The family encourages everyone to be an organ donor. Larry enjoyed life to the fullest and he will be greatly missed.
