He passed away March 7, 2010 at Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 67 years, 9 months and 14 days. Boyd grew up in Texas, in and around the Dallas/Ft Worth area. In 1959 he joined the US Army and was stationed in Germany. After his discharge, he moved to Compton, Texas where he started his career as a mechanic. In the late 60's he moved to Springfield, Missouri where he continued his career as a mechanic in automobile dealerships. Boyd was married to Joyce Verna Blevins on June 10, 1972 in Springfield. After their marriage they moved to Ash Grove, Missouri before Boyd moved the family to Cheyenne, Oklahoma to make their home. Boyd enjoyed shooting pool, fishing, hunting and spending time with his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Jeanne Newsom. He is survived by his wife, Joyce, of the home; 6 sons, Steve Blevins and wife, Reene, Springfield, Missouri, Tim Blevins and wife Gail, Rogersville, Missouri, Boyd "Chief" Perry, Cheyenne, Oklahoma, Boyd Franklin Perry, Colorado, Mark Edward Perry, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; 13 grabdchildren, 6 great grandchildren, 1 brother, Rowdy Compton and wife, Tamy; 4 sisters, Sandi Brown and husband Phillip, Rhoda Maynard and husband Billy, Frances Hertless and husband Rick, Sherry Woods and husband, Roy; a brother-in-law, Jack Newsom; sisters-in law, Nedaline Renshaw and husband, Kenneth, Rita Branam; special friends, Johnny Rice, Lisa Boyett and Dianna Conway; and a host od other relatives and friends. Services were held March 10, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at Cheyenne United Methodist Church officiated by Greg Keith. Burial will be at Berlin Cemetery, Berlin, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service.
