All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::NOT LISTED Pulliam, Harley McMillan HARLEY McMILLAN PULLIAM OCT. 25, 1932 - MAY 4, 2007 Harley Pulliam passed away at Doctors Medical Center on May 4, 2007. He was born on October 25, 1932, to Earl and Rosa McMillan in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. His mother died giving him life. Harley, his father and seven sisters moved to Arizona, but his father died when Harley was five. He was then adopted by Nolan and Edith Pulliam. Harley served in the Navy during the Korean War. He then worked for Sheraton Corporation for a few years. He moved to Modesto in 1962 as Food Services Director for Modesto City Schools. He married Virginia (Gin) McClure October 25, 1962, shortly after arriving in Modesto, where they have lived for over 44 years. He left Modesto City Schools after 18 years and tried other things, but went back to Modesto City Schools as a school bus driver for the last few years before retiring in 1994. Harley loved to restore antiques. He restored three antique cars as well as numerous pieces of antique furniture. He loved working with wood, watching John Wayne movies, playing games, especially chess, pinochle and gin rummy. He also enjoyed camping with a motor home for several years and later with a travel trailer, which is stored and used in Pismo Beach. Harley and Gin moved to The Grove Retirement Community of manufactured homes in Modesto in 2004, where they both made many new friends and enjoyed living very much. Harley was preceded in death by his parents and five sisters. He is survived by his wife, Virginia (Gin), sons Marc of Clayton, Dennis of San Francisco, and daughter Donna of Lincoln, sisters June Callaway of St. Paul, MN, and Zelda Moore of Martinez, CA, and five grand- children. He is also survived by brother-in-law, John Toste and several nephews and nieces, who were very dear to him. There will be a celebration of his life memorial service on June 23, 2007, 11:00 a.m. at the Salas Bros. Funeral Chapel.
