All rights reserved. http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens Cemetery--OKC OK Roberts, John Charles John Charles Roberts, went to be with his Lord & Savior following a 5 year battle with cancer, on Monday, March 31, 2003. He was born in 1935, in Oklahoma City, to Dutch & Mary Frances Roberts. He attended N.E. High School and was voted 'Most Popular Boy.' On August 19, 1955, he met & married his high school sweetheart, Chloe Ann Wade, of Spencer, OK, and started their loving journey through life together. In 1956, they gave birth to John C. Roberts, Jr. Their second son, Jerry C. Roberts, was born in 1960. John graduated in 1957 from Central State University with a degree in business. In the years following, he pursued a career in the Insurance Industry. He was eventually co-founder of Roberts & Roberts Insurance, joined in business by his son, Jerry. John was well known for his contagious sense of humor & wit and he brought happiness to others in this way. He had a passion for golf & played often making lifelong friends and relationships. His wife & sons joined him in his passion and many special memories were made. He is preceded in death by his father, Dutch Roberts, & his mother, Mary Frances Roberts. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Chloe Roberts; his son, John, Jr. and 2 grandchildren, Claire & Ryan of Oklahoma City; son, Jerry & wife, Sherry & 4 grandchildren, Natalee, Tiffany, Trey, Abbey of Edmond, OK. The family wishes to make a special thank you to Tami, Luis & Juli and all the nurses at Baptist Hospital who did such a wonderful job taking care of John during his illness. John was very special to many people and we will all love and miss him very much but we are certain of this: that we will see him again in Heaven and he will definitely be shooting par! Services will be on Thursday, April 3, 2003, at 2:00 P.M., Chapel Hill Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that any donations be made in John's name to the American Cancer Society-Edmond 'Relay for Life', 8400 Silver Crossing, Suite H, Oklahoma City, OK, 73132, phone - 475-9010.
