Racz has herby departed this life to be with his Lord and Master on Sunday, August 14, 2005. Mr. Racz was born to Frank & Grace Racz on Nov. 23, 1920, in the hamlet of Hamilton, Indiana near New Carlisle. He attended a one room school from the first to the eighth grade at Hudson Lake, Indiana and graduated from New Carlisle High School in 1939. He married Margaret Miller in Nov. 1941, and was drafted into the U.S. Army 35th Corp of Engineers in August 1942. He took his basic training at Mineral Wells, TX and then to Dawson Creek, Canada to work on the Al-Can highway. He returned to Camp White, Ohio in the latter part of 1943 and in April 1944 was sent to Camp Shank, New York, England and Normandy Beach and was involved in the Battle of the Bulge. He returned to the U. S. and was honorably discharged in 1945. Mr. Racz returned to New Carlisle to work with his father buying and selling cattle. In 1951 he went to work for Oliver Farm Machine. He moved to Oklahoma City and worked for other companies before joining Standard Life and Accident Insurance in 1955. At the time of his retirement he was vice President in Charge of Group Life and Credit Departments. In 1970 he married the former N. JoAnn (Chilless) Heard. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Bill Racz. He is survived by his wife, JoAnn; daughters, Dixie Winters Racz, Laramie, WY, JoLynn Musgrave, Longmont, CO; his sons, Thomas W. Racz, Guthrie, Jamie Heard, Okla. City, and Jeffry Heard, Longmont, CO; grandchildren, Aaron Racz and wife Kristen, Yukon, Sammi Heard, Whitefish, MO, Sgt. Jared Racz, serving in Irac, Logan, Parker and Joseff Musgrave, Longmont, CO and five great grandchildren; sister, Irene McGrath and husband, George; brothers in law, Bill Chilless, Paris, TX and wife Thelma, Fred Chilless, Norman and wife Sue, and Tedd Chilless, Portland, OR and wife Nancy along with several nieces and nephews. Services will be held at St. John's Episcopal Church in Norman on Wednesday, August 17th at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society or St. Jonn's Building Fund.
