Roselle went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on February 2, 2003. Born to Joe and Pauline (Vollars) Roselle on August 4, 1930, Joe attended Capitol Hill High School followed by the Oklahoma Military Academy from 1946-1947. He joined the Air Force where he was stationed in England. After his military service, he completed pre-law at the University of Oklahoma. Joe's passion for his career was born when his mother encouraged him to get a job as a bailiff for Judge Clarence Mills. Judge Mills insisted that his bailiffs be enrolled in law school, which led Joe to fall in love with the law. He earned his L.L.B. from Oklahoma City University School of Law in 1959. Joe worked in the law office of Gomer Smith for several years, then went into private practice. He was elected to the House of Representatives and served District 91 in Oklahoma City from 1965-1967. He was appointed Special Judge on December 14, 1993. He was admitted to the Oklahoma Supreme Court and the U.S. Supreme Court, and was a member of the Oklahoma Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, and Phi Delta Phi. He was a member of the Confederate Air Force, and the Quiet Birdmen (QBs). A longtime member of Quail Springs Baptist Church, Joe loved his church, loved his family and loved life. Joe was an aviation enthusiast and spent a great deal of time flying his Waco bi-plane. He loved the feeling of freedom in flying his plane and riding his Harley motorcycle. It is appropriate that this fun-loving man had the opportunity to ride his Harley straight to heaven. Joe was a dynamic man who was held in high esteem and was loved by many people. A robust fun loving man who leaves behind a legacy of integrity, love, and a tremendous sense of humor, Joe will be remembered and missed by many. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, 2 sisters, and a son Joseph Waring Roselle. He is survived by his wife, Lois of the home; brother Sam Rice of California; sister Autumn O'Mahoney of Polsbo, Washington; 7 children and their spouses, Joe and Pam Roselle of Scottsdale, Arizona, Sam and Robin Roselle of Crowley, Texas, Monica and Chris Kinder of Chouteau, Oklahoma, David and Tina Roselle of Edmond, Oklahoma, Brad and Susan Roselle of Omaha, Nebraska, Chris and Christi Roselle of Oklahoma City, and Tim and Amber Roselle of the home; and fourteen grandchildren.
