Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Shamrock Church of Christ with Jason Sparks, minister, and Cottie Tarbet officiating. Burial will be in Shamrock Cemetery in Wright Funeral Directors. Mr. Rushing was born June 1, 1942, in Shamrock. He graduated from Shamrock High School with the class of 1960. He was a veteran, serving in the Navy from 1961 to 1965. He married Kathie Cantrell on Jan. 27, 1968, in Shamrock. He worked for American Equipment and Trailer in Lubbock from 1970 to 1980. In 1980, he returned to Shamrock to become general manager of Cantrell Corp. He was a member of Shamrock Church of Christ. Survivors include his wife; a son, Darren Rushing and wife, Wendi, of Brownfield; his mother, Christine Rushing of Shamrock; a brother, David Rushing of Shamrock; two sisters, Sandra Brannan of Port Neches and Teresa Tice of Readyville, Tenn.; an uncle, Clyde Rushing of Oklahoma City; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family suggests memorials be to Shamrock Church of Christ, P.O. Box 22, Shamrock, TX 79079; or Shamrock Community Educational Foundation Inc., 100 S. Illinois St., Shamrock, TX 79079.
