She was born to Elizabeth (Brewer) Hosler and James Hosler on July 21, 1915 in West Brownsville, PA. She met the love of her life, Fred Recer, at Southwestern Evangelistic Institute in Arlington, TX. They were united in marriage on May 27, 1938. Florence worked on the maternity floor at Deaconess Hospital for over 20 years. She was a witness for her Lord to everyone she met up to her last moments. She was active in the Christian and Missionary Alliance church for over 57 years. Anyone who knew her knew that if she said she was going to pray for you that she truly was going to pray for you. The highlight of her later years was becoming a grandmother and great-grandmother. She was known to many as Granna or Grandma. Florence is survived by her husband, Fred Recer of the home; sons, James Eugene Recer and wife, Viet of San Diego, Gary Recer of Houston and Tim Recer and wife, Joyce of Hastings, MN; daughter, Celeste Nimmo and husband, David of the home; sister, Hallie Blake and husband, John of Montgomery, AL; eight grandchildren, Sheila Hyde, Derek Recer and wife, Denise, Charlie Recer, Tony Douglas and wife Melissa, Mike Recer, Krystal Nimmo, Aaron Hollingsworth and Katherine Hollingsworth; and four great- grandchildren. Family will receive visitors at Bill Merritt Funeral Service on Wednesday from 5:00-9:00pm. Funeral services will be at Springdale Alliance church on Thursday at 10:00am. Interment at Resurrection Cemetery.
