Norman Rhode

Norman Rhode, 76, of Bartlesville died 1:25 a.m. Friday at St. Johns 
Medical Center in Tulsa. Memorial services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. 
Monday at the Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church with Rev. Ray Hickman and 
Cathy Hamrick officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Walker-
Brown Funeral Home.

Mr. Rhode was born October 9, 1926 to Ed and Lucy (Spelling) Rhode in 
Oklahoma City, OK. He graduated from the Univ. of OK in 1951 and earned 
his doctorate at OSU in 1963. He married Luann Theis and they had two 
sons, Brad and Mike. They resided in Dodge City Kansas before moving to 
Bartlesville in 1996. Mr. Rhode taught at St. Mary's of the Plains in 
Dodge City and various other universities. He was also a researcher and 
worked for Conoco and Marion Laboratories. He was a member of several 
Honor Societies, the American Chemical Society, and published various 
reports and patents in the chemistry field.

Mr. Rhode is survived by his wife Lucy of the home, 2 sons, Brad Rhode and 
his wife Patty of Wichita and Mike Rhode and his wife Jennifer of Boston, 
Mass, 2 step grandchildren, Courtney ct Molly and a host of friends.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.
