Born February 14, 1917 in Oklahoma City to Leonard and Mary Bailey. Martha was a graduate of Central High School and was married to Joe O. Ray in 1939. She was a lifelong member of St. Paul's Episcopal Cathedral, and in addition to being a homemaker, she served in many capacities at her church. Aside from being a Friday office volunteer for many years, she was a member of the choir, the Altar Guild, Mobile Meals, Pony Express and was a member of St. Catherine's Guild. Martha was a devoted wife and mother and she loved keeping in touch with her family and friends whether near or far. Martha is survived by her husband Joe; two daughters, Judy Henley of Oklahoma City and Jo Schofield of Memphis, Tennessee; three grandchildren, Bryan Henley of Monterey, California, Eric Schofield of Richmond, Virginia, and Kristin Lara of Nashville, Tennessee; her sister, Sally Johnson of Hemet, California; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by her brother Leonard W. Bailey, and two sisters, Edie Lashley and Margaret Lay, both of Oklahoma City. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 17, 2002 at St. Paul's Episcopal Cathedral located at 7th and N. Robinson. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday, December 16th at Guardian North Funeral Home, 11600 N. Pennsylvania. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Paul's Cathedral.
