Roe, 83, a loving and dedicated husband, father, grandfather and brother, passed away Tuesday, June 20, 2006, in Fort Worth. Funeral: 11 a.m. Thursday at Retta Baptist Church. Officiant will be Bill Roe. Burial: Burleson Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Crosier-Pearson-Mayfield Funeral Home in Burleson/Fort Worth. Memorials: Diamond J Youth Ranch, 111 Walnut Ave., Mansfield, Texas 76063. James was born Jan. 3, 1923, in Oklahoma City. He retired from Bell Helicopter where he worked on the tilt-rotor projects. James served his country proudly in the Army in an anti-aircraft battalion in World War II in Europe. Before moving to Rendon in 1975, he served as a deacon at South Fort Worth Baptist Church and later as a greeter at Retta Baptist Church. Besides serving the Lord, he attended air shows, family reunions and loved playing with his grandkids. James was preceded in death by his parents, James A. and Nettie F. Jones Roe of Wichita Falls. Survivors: Wife of 56 years, Jean Jeter Roe; sons, James "Jim" P. Roe of Arlington and Terry W. Roe and wife, Donna, of Burleson; daughter, Barbara J. Walls and husband, Marshall, of Burleson; granddaughters, Jennifer Rutherford and husband, John, Stacey Caffey and husband, Kevin, Kelley and Haley Walls, all of Burleson, and Laura Hermes and husband, Michael, and Ashley Roe, all of Arlington; great-grandsons, Titus and Abraham Rutherford of Burleson; brothers, Wayne Roe and wife, Leda, of Clay County, Bill Roe and wife, Nina, of Cleburne and Charles Roe of Ash Flat, Ark.; brother-in-law, Irvin A. Jeter of Wichita Falls; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
