Funeral services for Kenneth R. Scheffe, 81, of Edmond, OK are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 3rd in the Matthews Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery in Enid, OK at 2:00 p.m. Kenneth was born November 1, 1924, in St. Mary's hospital in Enid, OK and passed away Wednesday, November 30, 2005 in Edmond, OK. He graduated from Enid High School and later from the University of Oklahoma with a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering. He served active duty in The United States Navy during WWII. He attended Midshipmen's Academy at Notre Dame and was later stationed in Hawaii. He continued his military service in the US Navy Reserves, ultimately attaining the rank of Lieutenant. He was commander of the Navy Reserve Electronics Division in Enid, OK. He began his professional career with OG&E in Muskogee, OK in 1947. On February 20, 1948 he was married to Ella Jean Dickey. In 1954 they transferred to Enid where he was promoted to Division Engineer. During his tenure in Enid, he served terms as president of the Northwest chapter of the Oklahoma Society of Professional Engineers and as president of the Enid Jaycees and Toastmasters. In 1969, he transferred to Oklahoma City and became head of OG&E's Right of Way Division, making his home in Edmond, OK. He retired from OG&E on May 1, 1985 after 38 years of continuous service with the company. Mr. Scheffe was a resident of the Oklahoma Christian Home in Edmond and was a member of the Disciples of Christ Christian Church. He was preceded in death by his father, Otto Scheffe, his mother, Minnie Pope Scheffe, and his wife Ella Jean. He is survived by two brothers, Walter P. Scheffe of Enid, OK and Lee Roy Scheffe of Houston, two sons, Bob Scheffe of Edmond and Gary Scheffe of The Woodland, TX, eight grandchildren, four great grandchildren and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
