Services will be at 10 a.m. today in Memorial Road Church of Christ. Burial will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Memorial Park Cemetery in Amarillo by Matthews Funeral Home. Mrs. Scott was born June 5, 1923, in Donley County, Texas. She was the fifth child of O.L. and Valley Usrey. She spent most of her life in Amarillo. Due to her failing health she, along with her husband, Russell, moved to Edmond. Lavern was a faithful Christian and wonderful wife and mother. She was preceded in death by her husband. Survivors include a son, Mickey Banister and wife, Jane, of Edmond; two granddaughters, Ali Compton and husband, Ben, of Skiatook and Carrie Schaefer and husband, Greg, of Edmond; a great-granddaughter, Isabel of Edmond; four sisters, Cleo Crutchfield of Plainview, Nell Riffle and husband, Wallace, of Conway, Ark., Reba Shields and husband, James, of Durant, Okla., and Katherine Yates and husband, Ed, of Murray, Ky.; a brother, Harold Usrey and wife, Beth, of Boulder, Colo.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
