Swatek, William Kasl (Bill) William Kasl (Bill) Swatek was born September 26, 1921 in Oklahoma City and lived here 81 years. He died April 12, 2004 in Little Rock, AR. Bill graduated from Classen High School where he was an all-state football player and lettered in football and track and field. He attended the University of Oklahoma where he pledged Kappa Alpha fraternity. Bill attended Oklahoma City University where he was a member of the OCU Gold Bugs football team. He served his country in World War II as a member of the 31st Seabees and fought in the Battle of Iwo Jima. An avid outdoorsman, he fished the lakes of Mexico and Canada and hunted in Colorado and the Dakotas. Bill grew up in the family construction business, M.A. Swatek & Co. He was the former president of MA Swatek and went on to found and be president of WK Utilities. He was a member of St. Joseph's Old Cathedral where he served as an usher for many years before his illness. He leaves Billie, his beloved wife of 46 years, and their two children, Stephen Swatek and his wife, Kathy, of Kansas City, MO and Susan Schaefer and her husband, Jack, of Little Rock, AR and one granddaughter, Jessica Swatek of Kansas City, MO. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Irma Swatek; his twin brother, Bobby, and his half brother, Ted Vaughn. Bill will be greatly missed by his family who loved him dearly. The family suggests donations in his honor be made to St. Joseph's Old Cathedral, Alzheimer's Association or the charity of your choice. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 PM, Wednesday, April 14, 2004 at Smith & Kernke, 14624 N.
