Funeral services for Braman Ray (B.R.) Sides will be held Sat. Dec. 28, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Council Road Baptist under the direction of Bill Merritt Funeral Home. B.R. was born February 16, 1918 in Liberty Grove, Alabama. He went to be with the Lord on Dec. 25, 2002. He was residing at the Grace Living Center in Bethany when he passed away. B.R. graduated from High School in Carbonhill, Alabama in 1939. He married Nellie Burns in 1940. They had a son in 1943, the same year he was drafted into the Army. B.R. served in World War II and the Korean War. He and Nellie have been members of Council Road Baptist Church for 22 years. B.R. was preceded in death by his parents, Lonnie and Rose Sides; a brother, Woodrow Sides; and his only child, Bill Sides of El Reno, OK. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Nellie; two sisters, Laura Gober and Easter Lee; one brother, Ottis Sides and his wife, Lucille; also a daughter-in-law, Donna Sides; four granddaughters, Jennifer Robbins, Melanie Baker, Whitney and Cortney Sides and two step-grandchildren, Steve Pickett and Shari Johanning; and 13 great grandchildren.
