All rights reserved. http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Charlie Gene Sutton Charlie Gene Sutton, 49, a former Amarillo resident, died Thursday, July 8, 1999, at Oklahoma City. Wake service will be from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Warford-Walker Mortuary Inc., 509 N. Hughes St., in Amarillo. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. James Mims, pastor of New Covenant Missionary Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Guardian Funeral Homes of Oklahoma City and Warford-Walker Mortuary Inc., 509 N. Hughes St., Amarillo. Mr. Sutton was born in Amarillo and moved to Oklahoma City in 1977. He graduated from Alamo Catholic High School and attended Amarillo Community College. He was employed at Associated Wholesale Groceries for 22 years. He was a Vietnam veteran, serving in the Army until he was honorably discharged in 1971. He was affiliated with St. Martin's Catholic Church and Johnson Chapel AME Church. He married Venoral Leaks in 1968 in Amarillo. Survivors include a son, Charles David "Chad" Sutton of Oklahoma City; a sister, Helen E. Richardson of Amarillo; two brothers, Donnie Ray Sutton of Amarillo and Jimmie C. Sutton of Wichita Falls; three stepbrothers; and a stepsister. The family will be at 2512 Orange St. in Amarillo.
